A Little About Us

Welcome to Reflections African Jewelry LLC, the online home of designer and craftsperson Sheinata Carn-Hall. For 18 years, Sheinata’s store in the historic 1790 Charleston City Market has been a mecca for people who appreciate and collect her wearable art. Her one-of-a-kind earrings, bracelets and necklaces showcase the clear African roots that have made them unique in the world of jewelry and accessories. In August 2016 she closed her location at the Charleston City Market. Sheinata currently sells at local pop ups in the Charleston area. Check out the events link to shop local.

Sheinata describes the materials with which she works as being “gifts from the earth” including natural beads imported from Africa and recycled materials from sea glass and coconut shells to aluminum. Each bead has its own symbolism (historically some were used as currency) and has come to represent specific reflections of love, peace and happiness.

She infuses herself completely in her work, saying, “My spirit led me to my work and I know creating my jewelry was what I could do to contribute to the world.”
